Bullying risk levels

Events are categorised as Bullying when Monitor and the Moderators detect a person who:

  • Regularly engages in emotional abuse of others
  • Intimidates, harasses, controls, uses fear or excludes others for the purpose of emotional manipulation
  • Posts material intended to shame and humiliate their target
  • Is the target of bullying or emotional abuse 

The risk levels are identified for a user who has:

Level Reason
1 Made a mildly abusive comment directed at a person once in recent history
2

Made a seriously abusive comment directed at a person with no physical threats once in recent history

Made several mildly abusive comments to a person in recent history

3

Made a hateful or prejudiced statement directed at a person based on race, religion, nationality, sexuality, physical appearance or intelligence once in recent history

Several risk level 2 Bullying Events reported in recent history

4

Made a hateful or prejudiced statement directed at a person based on race, religion, nationality, sexuality, physical appearance or intelligence several times in recent history

Regularly made serious, non-physically abusive comments in recent history

Related, lower risk-level Events frequently reported in recent history

5

Regularly made hateful or prejudiced statements directed at a person based on race, religion, nationality, sexuality, physical appearance or intelligence in recent history

Made frequent, seriously abusive comments that didn’t contain physical threats in recent history
