This article is for Safeguarding Contacts.
Alerting Profiles are customisable profiles used for reporting on User Groups where you can specify different alert types and email alert levels.
Safeguarding Contacts can create and customise Alerting Profiles for different groups of users. Alerting Profiles are linked with a User Group so that any alerts raised for any user within that group trigger a call and/or an email to the appropriate Contacts.
Note
- Users who aren’t in a group used in an Alerting Profile will be treated as if they are in a group used in the default Alerting Profile, so alerts are sent to the main Safeguarding Contact.
- Safeguarding Contacts can review all Alerts in the Cloud Portal, even if they are not a phone or email Contact in an Alerting Profile.
Before you begin
Ensure you have:
- Set up directories and User Groups.
-
Contacts created - see Monitor Roles and access permissions for more information.
- At least one Safeguarding Contact.
- (Optional) One or more Limited Safeguard Contacts.
Create an Alerting Profile
- Sign in to the Cloud Portal and select Monitor:
- UK, Australia, New Zealand: portal.smoothwall.cloud
- US: portal.linewize.net
- Select Edit for your required Organization.
- Select Alerting Profiles.
- Select +Add.
- Enter a Name and Description.
- Select a Target Age Range from the dropdown. You can select from:
- Young Child (4-10)
- Older Child (11-16)
- Young Adult (17-18)
- Adult (18+)
- Select one or more Target Group(s). These are your User Groups mapped from Directory groups.
- Search for a Safeguarding Contact or Limited Safeguarding Contact from the Phone Call Contacts dropdown. Select the Contact for them to be called by our Moderation team for some high-risk Events. You must add at least one Phone Call Contact, up to a maximum of 10.
Note
Remove a Contact by selecting Remove.
- Drag a Contact’s name to the top of the list to prioritise who is called first. The Moderator will call the next Contact in the list until one answers the call.
- Search for and select a Safeguarding Contact (shown by S) or Limited Safeguarding Contact (shown by LS) in Email Contacts. This can be the same or different people than you chose for Phone Call Contact. Email alerts are automatically sent to all Email Contacts for the users in this profile’s Target Group at the time an Event is recorded.
Note
Remove a Contact by selecting X.
- (Optional) Change the default Email Alert Levels for each of the Event Types. Select from:
- N/A: Monitor won’t sent Alert Emails for Events with this Event Type, but the Events will still show on the Events page.
- Level 1+, Level 2+, Level 3+, Level 4+ or Level 5.
- Select Create.
