Monitor detects Grooming risks when a child or a young person is involved in an activity that indicates:
- Coercion for sexual activity: The child or young person attempts to coerce another individual into sexual activity, or is the target of coercion from a suspected adult (18+).
- Building trust and encouraging sharing: A suspected adult (18+) attempts to establish trust by appearing sympathetic, encouraging the sharing of personal details or gifts, or desensitising the child to sexual discussion and imagery.
- Potential sexual abuse: Reveals information suggesting they have been subjected to sexual abuse.
