Changing your browser’s Language and Date and Time allows Monitor to:
- Display data in your region’s date and time format.
- (For UK users) Display alerting levels for Record Manager integration in Alerting Profiles.
- (For US users) Display US-based education references for moderation and Event reporting, such as Elementary School, Middle School, and High School.
- Display the Monitor branding.
Change your browser’s Language settings
Note
The instructions in this section only apply to the most commonly used web browsers. Consult your browser’s documentation if you’re using one other than Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
Chrome
- Open Chrome and select More (
) at the top-right.
- Select Settings.
- On the left navigation menu, select Languages.
- Under Preferred languages, select your region’s language (for example, English (United States). If it’s not listed, select Add Languages.
- Restart Chrome to apply the setting.
These steps may change based on your version of Google Chrome. Refer to this help guide for the latest information.
Edge
- Open Microsoft Edge and select the three dots at the top-right of the browser window.
- Select Settings.
- Select Languages in the left-hand menu.
- Select the three dots next to English (your region), and then select Display Microsoft Edge in this language. If the language isn't listed, add it by clicking Add Languages.
- Restart Edge.
These steps may change based on your version of Microsoft Edge. Refer to this page for the latest information.
Firefox
- Open Firefox and select the three vertical little lines on the toolbar (
).
- Select Settings. The General settings page will appear.

Scroll down to Language and Appearance > Language and select English (your region) from the drop-down. If it's not listed, select Set Alternatives to add the language.
Tip
If you want Monitor to display information in your device’s system language, select Use your operating system settings for [Language] to format dates, times, number, and measurements. - Restart Firefox.

Safari
- Select the Apple menu > System Settings > General.
- Select Language & Region.
- Under Preferred languages, select the + button to add your language.
- If you have multiple languages, you can drag your preferred language to the top of the list. This will be the primary language the system and all applications will use, including Safari.
- If prompted, restart your device to apply the settings.

Change your browser's Date and Time settings
Monitor displays information based on your device’s date and time settings. However, most major browsers, such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari do not have their own date and time settings. To change the date and time in your browser, you must change it from your device’s system settings.
Windows
- Select Start > Settings > Time & language > Date and time.
- You can choose to set the time and time zone automatically or manually.
- To set automatically, turn ON Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically.
- To set manually:
- Turn OFF Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically.
- Select Change, then select your time zone from the drop-down menu.

macOS
- Select the Apple menu in the top-left corner, and then System Settings.
- In the sidebar, select General.
- Select Date & Time.
- You can set the date and time either automatically or manually.
- To set automatically, turn ON Set time and date to automatic. Your device will use your location to determine the time zone.
- To set manually:
- Turn OFF Set time and date to automatic.
- Select Set for Date and time.
- Turn OFF Set time off automatically using your current location.
- Select your closest city from the dropdown menu.
- Close the System Settings window or return to the previous page.
